How to complete your Fill My Manger Kit:
Wooden Manger Assembly:
- Swaddle Baby Jesus: Use the 6 inch square piece of fabric and turn it at a diagonal. Place the wooden Baby Jesus in the middle of the fabric and fold up the bottom corner and glue down. Fold over the left side, then the right side, and glue the corner down.
- Cut Rafia into Manger Hay: You will have three long pieces of Rafia in your kit. Gather the three pieces together and starting with one end, wrap the three pieces around three of your fingers and then tie it off with the end of one piece. Cut the top and bottom loops and you have your bundle of straw!
Place your Manger and Baby Jesus in a prominent location in your home so you and your family will see it everyday as a reminder to engage in daily service. Each piece of straw you lay in the manger represents one kind deed. Try to fill the manger each and every day. By Christmas morning your manger will be filled with love and ready to hold the greatest gift ever given, our Savior, Jesus Christ!
